With views across emerald rice fields, the Heart Shala is Villa Crystal Castle’s open-air gathering space. Built from recycled ironwood with a recycled teak floor and smooth white-stone surround, it’s designed without internal posts so the room feels completely uninterrupted.
Inspired by the traditional Balinese wantilan (a community meeting place), the Shala works beautifully for yoga, movement, workshops, ceremonies, and group meals. It comfortably hosts 40+ students practising together, or seats 100+ guests when arranged for talks and events.
Look closer and you’ll notice the story in the details: timber features from a 300-year-old fishing boat, recovered from a swamp in Java, and rich purple mosquito netting draped from the edges to create a soft, elegant atmosphere, especially magical in the early morning and golden hour.
